What Is a Pet Enrichment Session?

Enrichment is more than exercise. It’s a guided experience that engages your pet’s natural instincts—exploring, problem-solving, and learning—while also providing physical activity. Each private session will be tailored to your dog’s comfort level and energy, with you right by their side.

A Typical Session Includes:

  • Warm-up walk to get muscles moving

  • Agility jumps to build coordination

  • Weave poles to improve focus and flexibility

  • Tunnel exploration for confidence and curiosity

  • Kiddie-pool play with washable rubber toys to cool down and add fun

Throughout the session, our enrichment specialist, Montana Wright (Certified in Animal Welfare & Behavior) will coach you on how to safely recreate similar activities at home using everyday household items.

Why Enrichment Matters

Just like people, pets thrive on variety and mental stimulation. Research in zoos and shelters shows that animals offered enrichment display fewer stress behaviors, greater confidence, and stronger bonds with caregivers.

For dogs, regular mental challenges can:

  • Reduce boredom-related behaviors such as chewing, digging, or barking

  • Build confidence and resilience

  • Provide low-impact exercise that supports joint health and overall fitness

  • Strengthen the human-animal connection through teamwork and play

Cats and other pets benefit too—puzzle feeders, lick mats, and slow-paced “agility” exercises help relieve anxiety, sharpen problem-solving skills, and encourage natural foraging behaviors.
